The Jammu and Kashmir Police nabbed two Jaish-e-Mohammad operators on Thursday for providing food and a hotspot connection to the terrorists who carried out the July 8 ambush on an army convoy in Kathua’s Badnota hamlet. The attack killed five troops, including a junior commissioned officer (JCO), and injured five more.

“We have arrested two overground workers (OGWs) of the JeM. They have confessed that they provided food and hotspot connection to the terrorists who attacked army trucks at Badnota on July 8,” a officer stated.

He predicted further arrests in the case. Both of them had given the terrorists strategic and logistical support, he claimed.

They were identified as Layaqat Ali of ward number 7, Kalna Dhanu Parole in Billawar tehsil, and Mool Raj of Bowli Mohalla in Malhar tehsil in Kathua district.

According to the officer, the two terrorist companions also carried communications from one group of two terrorists to another group of the same number of terrorists in Machhedi’s forests. “After the attack on July 8, the two had helped the terrorists with an escape route,” the cop explained.
