The Karnataka leg of the “Bharat Jodo Yatra” was resumed by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Sunday, the 32nd day of the Yatra, from Tiptur in the Tumkur district.
According to veteran Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, the march got underway around 6:45 am.
The Congress MP will speak with coconut farmers this afternoon following the Yatra.
Jairam Ramesh, the leader of the Congress party, praised the party’s work on Twitter.
“Day 32 of #BharatJodoYatra started at 6.45 am. The entire day will be spent in the Tumkuru district which contributes more than 1/3rd of total coconut production in Karnataka. An interaction with coconut farmers is planned in the afternoon”, tweeted Congress party leader Jairam Ramesh.
The Congress party started the Yatra on September 7.

Rahul Gandhi engaged the masses earlier on September 9 when the Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed from Mayasandra, Tumakuru, Karnataka.
It was set for one o’clock and was the march’s third press conference.
Meanwhile, a separate polling place will be set up at the campsite for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the 40 Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) members who are participating in the Bharat Jodo Yatra to cast their votes for the party president.
On October 17, the voting for the Congress presidential elections is planned to take place, and the padayatra will stop for that day.
Jairam Ramesh, the head of the Congress, stated unequivocally that a voter simply needs an ID card to exercise their right to vote.
At the travel camp, every provision has been made for their participation in the election of president.
The vote will be overseen by the Central Election Authority, which is under the direction of senior party leader Madhusudan Mistry.
Election results will be announced on October 19 after voting on October 17.
The grand old party is about to elect a non-Gandhi president after more than 25 years.
