Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], February 15 (ANI): A Karnataka-based group of activists called the Campaign Against Hate Speech on Monday filed a complaint against Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij for his alleged “hateful” tweet against Disha Ravi, a 21-year-old climate activist who was arrested in the ‘Toolkit’ document case related to the farmers’ protest.
“We are filing this complaint against Anil Vij, Haryana Home and Health Minister for openly calling for the killing of Disha Ravi, a 21-year-old climate activist and co-founder of Fridays for Future and other so-called “anti-nationals”. This tweet was widely covered by media houses across the country,” said the complaint.
Campaign Against Hate Speech said Vij’s tweet, which literally translates to “Whosoever has the seed of anti-nationalism in their minds should be completely exterminated, whether it’s Disha Ravi or someone else”, is an “open call for extermination and encounter of all people who he thinks are “anti-national” and especially Disha Ravi who is an accused in an ongoing investigation.”

The complaint said that by asking for such extermination of people who Vij thinks have “seeds of anti-nationalism in their minds”, the Minister is directly attacking the constitutional provisions of Right to life and dignity under Article 21 and Right to liberty under Article 19 of the Constitution.
“By calling for the extermination of the so-called “anti-nationals”, he is inciting violence against individuals that could lead to bodily harm or even loss of life. He is promoting enmity and inciting actions prejudicial to the peace and harmony of the nation. His open call for the extermination of people is intended to provoke breach of peace and intentionally insult Disha Ravi,” it added.
The complaint added that the Minister is duty-bound to respect and abide by the Constitution which he has “conveniently forgotten” in his criminal intimidation of a 22-year-old activist and others.
“The minister has wilfully ignored the concept of due process of law by calling for the extermination of an “accused” who is yet to undergo a trial. The tweet has been widely shared and continues to be shared even as this complaint is being drafted. In this regard, we seek that FIR under Section 153A, 503, 504, 505, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 be registered against Anil Vij for unconstitutional, criminally intimidating, hateful statements calling for open encounters on the social media platform Twitter,” it added. Muraleedharan clarifies BJP has not yet decided to name Sreedharan as CM candidate for Kerala polls
New Delhi [India], March 4 (ANI): Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan on Thursday clarified that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not yet decided to nominate former Delhi Metro chief E Sreedharan, popularly known as ‘Metroman’, as the Chief Minister candidate of the party for the upcoming Kerala Assembly polls.
Speaking to ANI, Muraleedharan said: “There were some statements that E Sreedharan will be CM candidate in Kerala. I heard media reports that the party has announced him as the CM candidate.
“After I talked to the party president he said that he hasn’t made any statement and he was only referring to some issue in Kerala, So it should not be considered as an announcement, I m clarifying it,” he added.
Earlier today, Muraleedharan told ANI that Sreedharan would become the Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections.
“BJP will fight Kerala polls with E Sreedharan Ji as its chief ministerial candidate. We will defeat both CPIM and Congress to provide a corruption-free, development-oriented Governance for the people of Kerala,” he tweeted.
“Kerala BJP under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji will strive to take care of the needs of the people of Kerala. The New Kerala under E Sreedharan Ji will pave the way for an efficient & effective Govt in the state.” he added

In a first, COVID-19 vaccine storage freezer, powered by hybrid renewable energy launched in Hyderabad
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], March 4 (ANI): In a first-of-its-kind initiative, a COVID-19 vaccine storage chiller and freezer that runs on the hybrid renewable energy source of both wind and solar energy was launched in Hyderabad on Thursday.
Rockwell Industries Ltd, a commercial cold chain appliances manufacture, Thursday launched its new product called ‘Chillermill’ here. The product is both a freezer and chiller useful to store COVID-19 vaccine at the required temperatures.
Speaking to ANI at the launch of the product, Prateek Gupta, Director of Rockwell Industries Ltd said, “The vaccine storage chiller and freezer called ‘Chillermill’ is the first of its kind as it runs on hybrid renewable energy, which takes its source from solar as well as wind. This chiller/freezer gets its required power from the renewable energy source.”
Prateek Gupta added, “The ‘Chillermill’ fits the Covid-19 vaccine temperature requirements. This chiller/freezer can provide a temperature setting upto -20°C. This has been approved by the World Health Organisation. Some vaccines need temperatures to be between 2°C to 8°C while some other need temperatures to be at -20°C.”
Ashok Gupta, the Managing Director of Rockwell Industries Ltd said, “Till date, Rockwell has been able to offer its services into various segments like beverages, dairies and mostly ice-creams. But now we have decided to enter the medicine segment. We have developed a Cold chain supply system for the vaccines to be delivered and stored at the right temperatures called ‘Chillermill’, which is both a freezer and a chiller.”
He said that the major difference between other freezers and ‘Chillermill’ is that the latter runs on hybrid renewable energy which means it can run on both wind and solar energy. “The cost varies from Rs 40,000 to Rs 1 Lakh plus the energy source,” Ashok Gupta said.
“We are also planning to partner with the government to provide these freezers to the hospitals and health care units of rural areas, where there is a need for such machines. Though these machines are a bit costly, the government has developed a scheme. Under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds expenditure, these machines can be purchased and donated to the hospitals when needed,” he added.(ANI)
