SRINAGAR, July 24: Preparations are in full swing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Drass in Ladakh to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26. The Prime Minister is set to address the nation and Army soldiers from the Kargil War Memorial, paying tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War.
The Prime Minister’s address, set against the backdrop of the war memorial, will be a poignant reminder of the courage and bravery of India’s armed forces. He will also inaugurate several projects, further contributing to the development of the region.

Among those attending the event are Siddharth Dave and his wife, retired Captain Meera Siddharth Dave. The couple traveled 2,500 kilometers from Surat, Gujarat, to Drass, inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s dedication to celebrating important national events with the armed forces.
“We are from a military family; my wife is an army officer, and my father was in the Indian Air Force. It is a very important day for us as it marks 25 years since the Kargil War. We have traveled all the way in our car to pay tributes to the bravehearts and mark the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas,” said Siddharth Dave.
Captain Meera Siddharth Dave added, “Taking inspiration from PM Modi, we call our travel to Drass the ‘Kargil Vijay Gyan Yatra’ to pay tribute to the brave hearts on this important milestone.”
