According to the Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) report, over 80 persons were killed while resisting robberies in Pakistan’s Karachi during the first seven months of this year.

According to the research, street crime climbed in the first seven months of 2023, with over 52,000 instances registered over this time period. According to accounts, over 16,000 persons have lost their cellphones.

According to the research, 33,798 motorbikes and 2,296 automobiles were stolen or kidnapped during the first seven months of the current year, while 80 Karachiites were killed over the same period.

Recently, one such instance was reported at a gas pump when a security guard was shot dead by an armed robber for resisting a robbery try in Karachi’s Sher Shah Gulbai district. A lone bandit arrived on a motorcycle at the petrol pump and attempted to steal the guard’s firearm, according to CCTV evidence.

When the guard resisted, the robber opened fire, killing the security guard, named as Qamar-ud-Din, on the spot. Earlier this month, a Pakistani-Canadian person was allegedly shot dead by gunmen for thwarting a robbery attempt in Pakistan’s Nazimabad district.

The victim has been named as Amin Alvi by local police. He was murdered by muggers while out shopping with four street youngsters. According to The News International, one of the children accompanying the victim told police about the incident.
