‘Kalki 2898 AD’, directed by Nag Ashwin, has emerged as the standout film of 2024 in India, blending elements of science fiction and Indian mythology to resonate deeply with audiences nationwide. Setting a new record for the highest footfalls of any film released this year, including ‘Fighter’ and others, it has attracted over 2 crore viewers in just six days, surpassing all expectations.

Footfalls, distinct from box office figures, represent the actual number of individuals who attended screenings, providing a clearer measure of audience engagement. According to sacnilk, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has achieved this milestone, marking a significant achievement in Indian cinema for 2024.

Starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone, the film offers a sprawling canvas that invites viewers to envision a post-apocalyptic India. With a massive budget exceeding Rs 600 crore, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has already surpassed this mark in global box office collections, grossing Rs 700 crore worldwide, as confirmed by Vyjayanthi Movies in a recent announcement.

While ‘Fighter’, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, amassed Rs 358.89 crore globally, ‘Kalki’ has doubled that figure, solidifying its position as a blockbuster hit of 2024.
