Newtopia Details
Based on the Han Sang-Woon novel, Influenza, Newtopia describes Jae-Yoon and Young-Joo’s scary sojourn while fighting in an infested, zombie-like creature-infested skyscraper high up in Seoul not long after a breakup. Chao takes its turn: Jae-Yoon evolves into the leader when a little insecurities change and young Joo does find something from inside in their fight against living dead zombies.
Critics’ Reaction
Critics are already weighing in on the new series. Zoom’s in-house reviewer rated Newtopia 3.5 stars, stating, “It’s not Train to Busan or Happiness, but it’s the K-drama you’ll want to invest in without high expectations. The zombies blur the line between horror and comedy, making it an absolute fun watch.”
Newtopia is bound to be one of the most-watched K-dramas and zombie thrillers out there with its record-breaking debut and ever-growing global fanbase.
