Bharatiya Janata Party president JP Nadda accused the Congress of neglecting the Northeast and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for integrating the region with India through development initiatives.

Speaking at an election rally in Assam’s Kokrajhar, Nadda highlighted the reduction in AFSPA-affected areas and credited Modi and Amit Shah for bringing peace. He emphasized Modi’s frequent visits to the Northeast and listed his development priorities for the region.

As the first phase of Lok Sabha elections approaches, the Election Commission is implementing measures to ensure transparency, including GPS tracking for EVM-carrying vehicles and providing satellite phones in remote areas.

Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Goel expressed confidence in conducting a fair election, with observers deployed in all constituencies, particularly in the five constituencies set for polling on April 19.
