A senior official, speaking to the Indian Army, revealed that the alert was prompted by credible intelligence regarding the presence of two terrorists in the remote areas of Samba. In response, the J&K Police swiftly shared the alert with the Indian Army, stressing the critical importance of maintaining the highest level of alertness to thwart any potential terrorist activity.
“The input we received is currently under rigorous verification by sister intelligence agencies. We are maintaining the highest level of alertness and are fully committed to ensuring that any such attempt is foiled in a timely manner,” the official stated.

The operation was initiated following intelligence inputs regarding the suspected use of Thuraya mobile sets by suspected terrorists in the Dergarh area of Samba.
