The alert underscores the presence of two terrorists believed to be hiding in the upper forests of Samba, prompting authorities to urge heightened vigilance across all Indian Army installations in the area.

A senior official, speaking to the Indian Army, revealed that the alert was prompted by credible intelligence regarding the presence of two terrorists in the remote areas of Samba. In response, the J&K Police swiftly shared the alert with the Indian Army, stressing the critical importance of maintaining the highest level of alertness to thwart any potential terrorist activity.

“The input we received is currently under rigorous verification by sister intelligence agencies. We are maintaining the highest level of alertness and are fully committed to ensuring that any such attempt is foiled in a timely manner,” the official stated.

This alert comes in the wake of heightened security concerns, with security forces having launched a search operation in the area on January 19. The operation was initiated following intelligence inputs regarding the suspected use of Thuraya mobile sets by suspected terrorists in the Dergarh area of Samba.

As the situation unfolds, security agencies remain on high alert, intensifying efforts to neutralize any potential threats and safeguard the safety and security of the region.
