Recently, Jammu and Kashmir has experienced an uptick in terrorist activities. These incidents coincided with the ongoing Amarnath Yatra in South Kashmir.

On June 9, the same day Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet were sworn in, terrorists attacked a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi, causing it to fall into a gorge and resulting in nine deaths.

Earlier this month, an ambush by heavily armed terrorists in the Badnota area of Kathua led to the deaths of five soldiers and injuries to eight others. Additionally, security forces neutralized six terrorists in separate encounters in the Kulgam district.
