A jewelry showroom in the Dariba Kalan area of north Delhi was reportedly burgled by thieves who drilled a hole into the shop’s wall, according to police reports on Monday. The incident was captured on video, prompting an investigation by the authorities.
The suspects allegedly drilled into the showroom from a neighboring vacant shop to commit the robbery. “A PCR call regarding a burglary was received at the Kotwali police station. A team was immediately sent to the shop in Dariba Kalan,” a senior police officer stated.
The store owner had closed his shop around 8:30 pm on Saturday and returned home. Upon returning to the store on Monday, he and his father discovered the hole in the wall made from the adjacent empty and deteriorated shop.
Upon inspecting his inventory, the owner noticed that various silver items had been stolen. “The crime scene was examined by the forensic team and a case was registered against unknown perpetrators. We are checking the CCTV footage for clues, and further investigation is ongoing,” the officer concluded.
