On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, ‘Youth Day’ will be celebrated in Panchkula on January 12 in a distinctive manner, involving active participation from all segments of society.
Thousands of young people are expected to join a Walkathon aimed at enhancing the cleanliness, beauty, and greenery of Panchkula. The event will convey the message of seven key concerns to every household.
Gian Chand Gupta, Speaker of the Haryana Assembly, convened a meeting with senior officials, college and school principals, and representatives of the Sports Promotion Society Panchkula at the Public Works Department Rest House in Sector-1.
During the meeting, the program›s framework and organization were discussed, and necessary guidelines for a successful event were provided. Gupta emphasized that the celebration of this program should be akin to a festival.
In attendance at the meeting were Deputy Commissioner Sushil Sarwan, Municipal Corporation Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sachin Gupta. Gupta highlighted that Swami Vivekananda Jayanti is celebrated as Youth Day nationwide on January 12 each year.
This year, Panchkula has chosen to commemorate Youth Day uniquely with a Walkathon organized by the Sports Promotion Society Panchkula, known for its commendable work in promoting sports and guiding the youth for the past 12 years.
The Walkathon, which will start from Shalimar Ground in Sector 5 and conclude in the same sector, will involve active participation from the District Administration, Municipal Corporation, NGOs, RWAs, and religious institutions.
