Union Minister and J&K Election in-charge, G. Kishan Reddy, stated on Sunday that Jammu is at a historic juncture and will take the lead in deciding the next government in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing a press conference at the BJP media center, Reddy emphasized that for the first time, the BJP is positioned to form a government on its own in the region, giving the people of Jammu the power to shape their own future.

Accompanied by BJP Working President Sat Sharma, National Spokesperson R.P. Singh, Media Center In-charge Arun Gupta, Spokesperson Girdhari Lal Raina, and Media Head Dr. Pradeep Mahotra, Reddy outlined how the Modi government’s “zero tolerance” policy toward terrorism has led to a 98% reduction in terror incidents. He asserted that Jammu and Kashmir is now on the path to development and prosperity.

Criticising the Congress, National Conference, and PDP, Reddy accused them of misleading the people and being responsible for the violence and terrorism that has plagued the region. He called terrorism the “biggest speed breaker” in the way of progress and highlighted the abrogation of Article 370 as a turning point in J&K’s development.

“Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s leadership, Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing unprecedented growth,” Reddy said, appealing to the people to vote for the BJP’s symbol, the “Lotus,” in the upcoming elections. He urged voters to back a majority BJP government that would transform Jammu and Kashmir into a developed and self-reliant state.

Reddy praised the current atmosphere of security and peace, attributing it to the Modi government’s decisive actions against terrorism, stone-pelting, and separatist politics. He said these efforts have ushered in a wave of development, providing a stable environment where the youth are now more focused on their education and future.

“Children are no longer picking up stones, they are picking up laptops and books,” he remarked, adding that Jammu and Kashmir is being developed to compete economically with the Middle East and other leading regions. He also revealed that within two years, J&K will be self-sufficient in electricity and will even generate surplus power for sale, boosting its economic strength.

Additionally, Reddy highlighted the empowerment of local governance, noting that the central government has strengthened financial authority at the Panchayat level by providing direct financial aid, promoting grassroots development.

He concluded by affirming that the BJP is the only party working for all regions and communities of Jammu and Kashmir, and urged the public to vote for the BJP to ensure continued progress, development, and peace in the region.
