Politicians to woo voters at wedding ceremonies

Following the conclusion of the election campaign in Rajasthan, the sounds of wedding processions will soon replace the political buzz. In the city, Devuthani Ekadashi is observed as the birthday of Lord Khatu Shyam. The peak wedding season is expected to occur between November 23 and December 15. It is projected that 35 lakh marriages will take place across the country, with 4 lakh in the state and 20 thousand in Jaipur.

Opportunity for politicians to engage with voters
The resonating sound of Shehnai will fill the city from the evening of Devuthani Ekadashi as, per Hindu tradition, Lord Vishnu is said to awaken after a 147-day Yoga Nidra. The auspicious occurrences on Devuthani Ekadashi offer a significant opportunity for election candidates, providing a favourable moment to engage with voters. Since it is the wedding season, the presence of leaders is going to be significant in the wedding ceremonies. As per the instructions of the Election Commission, other events including election rallies and meetings will not be possible after 6 pm on 23 November.
According to the political experts, the campaign will take a different turn after Thursday evening. Because now politicians will be seen doing public dialogue in marriages also. Party workers are also going to try various methods to get votes, these methods include marriages. At present, it cannot be said which party will be ahead or which candidate will be seen working hardest for votes. But if seen as a relief, Pushpendra Bhardwaj is local from Sanganer Legislative Assembly, so he will get more opportunities. Similarly, everything depends on the candidate and the assembly constituency.”All India Tent Dealers Association President Ravi Jindal said, “More than 20 thousand marriages will take place in Jaipur on this day…Resources are also being procured from other states for the VVIP weddings to be held in the state including Jaipur.” Jindal said, “The tent dealers will also put up boards and placards in some gardens to create awareness for 100 per cent voting. So that there can be maximum voting. People should also understand the importance of the festival of democracy.”
