According to officials, Baramulla police have confiscated “illegal” assets valued at Rs 1.55 crore owned by drug dealers during the initial quarter of 2024 in Jammu and Kashmir. As per an official statement, the seized assets consist of four residential properties, one commercial complex, one piece of land, two I-20 cars, one Swift, and one Scooty, all belonging to drug peddlers and totaling 1.55 crores in Baramulla district during the first quarter of 2024.

Law enforcement indicated that this action was carried out under sections 68-E and 68-F (1) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. “The assets were flagged as unlawfully acquired during police investigations and are suspected to have been obtained through illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the individuals involved,” the statement added.
