In the Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir, a military member inadvertently discharged his weapon, killing one Army jawan and wounding another, according to police statements from Sunday.
An inquiry into the incident has reportedly been opened, and the accused army personnel has been detained, according to a police statement.
“There was an accidental discharge of weapon resulting in one fatal casualty and one injury to army personnel. The accused army personnel has been detained. Necessary legal action has been initiated,” District Police Bandipora in Jammu and Kashmir posted on the X social media platform.
