During the second phase of Chhattisgarh’s state assembly elections, tragedy struck as a jawan of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), identified as Head Constable Joginder Singh, lost his life in a blast triggered by Naxalites in Gariaband district. The incident occurred near Bade Gobra village while a polling team, accompanied by security personnel, was returning after conducting voting, according to a senior police official.
The Naxalites strategically executed the blast, resulting in the unfortunate death of Head Constable Joginder Singh. Additional security reinforcements were promptly dispatched to the scene, and further details are anticipated as the situation unfolds. The second phase of the Chhattisgarh elections witnessed polling in 70 out of the total 90 assembly constituencies in the state on Friday, following the first phase held on 7 November.
