Israel’s Ministry of Culture and Sport announced a notable increase in requests for government support for activities in 2024, crediting this surge to a decrease in the bureaucratic workload imposed on sports associations.

The ministry stated that 990 requests of this nature have been submitted to it through Merkava, the government system, thus far in 2024.

Following the reform implemented in the sports budget in 2019, a transition order required sports associations to submit applications through the government system, Merkava, starting in 2024. This measure aimed to assist sports associations by allowing them to make additions and corrections to the required documents until April 10, 2024, the final day for document submission.

Minister of Culture and Sports Miki Zohar: “The Ministry of Culture and Sports constantly continues to work thoroughly and faithfully for the sports associations. It is important to us that the various associations avoid such and various bureaucratic problems and be able to continue their activities in the world of sports in the best possible way.”
