IDF Spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari confirmed that Israel had completed its response to Iran’s attacks. He stated that the military conducted targeted and precise strikes on military sites in Iran, effectively neutralizing immediate threats to the State of Israel.
He remarked that the IDF had accomplished its mission and warned that if the Iranian regime made the mistake of escalating tensions again, Israel would be forced to respond. He noted that Israel had demonstrated its capability and determination to act decisively and was prepared to defend the State of Israel and its people, both offensively and defensively.

Airstrikes on Iran
In retaliation, Israel carried out airstrikes on Iran on Saturday, targeting military sites in Tehran and nearby areas. The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) stated these actions were a response to “months of continuous attacks” from Iran. Iran claimed its defense systems intercepted the strikes, reporting limited damage and indicating readiness to retaliate. Residents in Tehran and Karaj heard at least seven explosions, though their sources remain unclear.

Military Involvement and Focus
Dozens of Israeli fighter jets were involved, with Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defence Minister Gallant present at military headquarters during the attacks. The strikes did not target energy infrastructure or nuclear facilities, focusing instead on military bases in western Tehran.
Regional Flight Suspensions
In response, Iran canceled all flights, while Israel closed its airspace to civil aviation. Israel notified the United States of the strikes but did not involve them in the operation, with officials calling it an “exercise of self-defense.”
Context of Escalation
This escalation follows Iran’s missile attacks on Israel earlier in October. Additionally, the Israeli army attacked multiple locations in Iraq and Syria, with loud explosions reported in cities like Tikrit and Baiji.
