In a significant move marking the 15th anniversary of the Mumbai terror attacks, Israel has officially banned the notorious terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The Israeli government, without any request from India, characterized LeT as a “deadly” and “reprehensible” terror organization on Tuesday.

The Israel Embassy in India released an official statement, affirming that all necessary procedures and checks have been meticulously completed to include Lashkar-e-Taiba in the Israeli list of illegal terror organizations. Unlike other terror groups listed by Israel, this action is unique as it was not triggered by any external request but was a proactive measure.

Israel’s Defense and Foreign Affairs ministers collaborated in the past few months to expedite the extraordinary listing of LeT on this specific date, underlining the need for a unified global front against terrorism. The release highlighted LeT’s responsibility for the brutal murder of hundreds of Indian civilians, including the infamous November 26, 2008, attacks in Mumbai.

“Lashkar-e-Taiba is a deadly and reprehensible terror organization, responsible for the murder of hundreds of Indian civilians as well as others. Its heinous actions on November 26, 2008, still reverberate in force, through all peace-seeking nations and societies,” stated the official release.

Expressing solidarity, the State of Israel offered sincere condolences to all victims of terrorism, including those affected by the Mumbai attacks. The statement concluded by reaffirming Israel’s commitment to standing united with the global community for a peaceful future in the fight against terrorism. The 2008 Mumbai attacks orchestrated by LeT left a lasting impact, with the Israeli government emphasizing the need for collective efforts in combating such threats worldwide.
