On Tuesday, the Islamabad High Court granted protected bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sanam Javed in the May 9 case, according to ARY News. The court approved her request and directed the police not to arrest Javed until August 19. The protective bail was granted by Justice Miah Gul Hassan Aurangzeb, who oversaw the hearing of the case.

The Anti-Terrorism Court had previously issued arrest warrants for Sanam Javed in connection with the May 9 riots case. Although her request for an exemption from appearing in court was denied, bailable arrest warrants were issued for her, as reported by ARY News. Additionally, the court also rejected exemption requests from Member of the National Assembly Rubina Jamil and Ayesha Ali Bhutta.

It is important to note that on July 10, a Lahore High Court (LHC) bench acquitted the Tehreek-e-Insaf activist in a case filed by the Gujranwala Cantonment Police related to the May 9 riots. The Islamabad High Court’s recent decision regarding PTI activist Javed comes after a series of arrests and re-arrests.
