After Raghuram Rajan, former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, joining the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Rajasthan on Wednesday, political circles in Lutyen’s Delhi are abuzz with speculation about the future. People are wondering if Dr. Rajan will be the Gandhis’ choice for the next Prime Minister, in the same way that Former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao discovered former Reserve Bank Governor Dr Manmohan Singh and appointed him Finance Minister, who later became Prime Minister. As the march resumed, videos shared on social media showed Dr Rajan and Rahul having discussions while marching. BJP IT Cell Chief Amit Malviya tweeted that Dr Rajan fancies himself as the next Manmohan Singh.
