In a groundbreaking discovery, Neuralink’s first human patient Noland Arbaugh has displayed a promising result, since the transfer of the Brain chip by Elon Musk’s company in January.

But questions continue to persist in people, is there a possibility to hack the brain chip?

Quenching people’s doubt, Neuralink’s patient Noland Arbaugh declared Yes. he gave that answer, when he was asked about possible hijacking of human minds and becoming cyborgs.

But he also emphasized, hacking his brain implant wouldn’t have much impact. He also said, ‘You might be able to see like some of the brain signals. You might be able to see some of the data that Neuralink’s collecting.’

However, Arbaugh did not reveal much about data, that is being collected by Neuralink chip. It is said, that Neuralink chip is almost the size of a coin. It has a lot of electrodes which monitor and stimulate brain activity.

As per provided information, it is digitally transferred. Furthermore, Arbaugh also revealed, he was tied with the computer, during the course of hacking.

What Was Noland Arbaugh’s Experience?

then the 29-year-old quadriplegic man, also said, that the brain chip has made him more independent and helped in reconnect with people socially.

Talking about his experience he said,

‘I’ve been using it to message people on X, use Instagram, reply to emails, play fantasy sports, read comics online, and access a site I use to learn Japanese….I also used it to book a hotel for when I visited Neuralink’s headquarters.’

But when asked about potential vulnerabilities, Noland acknowledged, that if his computer gets hacked, someone any manipulate his mouse cursor and can access messages or emails.

However, he didn’t worry about the risk, as concerns related to hacking were discussed before the study began.

In conclusion, he said, ‘It is what it is. I think if it happens, it happens.’

This development comes around the time, when neuralink’s founder Elon Musk has announced, that one day, the chip will be utilized to deal with mental conditions like autism and schizophrenia and would make them mainstream.
