KKR’s charter flight from Lucknow to Kolkata encountered adverse weather conditions, prompting a diversion to Guwahati. The team, fresh off their victory against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in an IPL 2024 fixture, took to their official X account to update followers on their situation, confirming their temporary halt at Guwahati Airport. Looking ahead, KKR is scheduled to face Mumbai Indians (MI) at the iconic Eden Gardens for their next IPL encounter.

In their recent match against Lucknow, KKR took to the crease first. A stellar performance, led by Narine’s 81 runs, combined with impactful contributions from Salt, Raghuvanshi, and Singh, propelled KKR to a formidable total of 235/6. Naveen-ul-Haq emerged as the top wicket-taker for LSG, securing three crucial dismissals.

In response, Lucknow’s batting lineup faced significant challenges. Despite efforts from Stoinis and skipper KL Rahul, LSG fell short, managing only 137 runs before being bowled out. Rana and Aaron showcased impressive bowling performances for KKR, contributing to their victory.

Following this triumph, KKR currently leads the IPL 2024 points table with 16 points, having secured eight wins out of eleven matches. On the other hand, LSG occupies the fifth position with 12 points, accruing six victories and five losses throughout the season. Recognizing his impactful performance, Narine was honored with the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his contributions with both bat and ball.
