IPL 2024: Following his exceptional performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Monday, Suryakumar Yadav, representing Mumbai Indians (MI), expressed satisfaction, noting it had been a while since he delivered such a standout performance. Suryakumar’s unbeaten 102-run innings from 51 balls, including 12 fours and 6 sixes, led MI to a convincing seven-wicket victory over SRH at the Wankhede Stadium.

Reflecting on his contribution, Suryakumar mentioned that despite fielding for 20 overs and batting for 18 overs, fatigue was his only concern, with no injury worries. He emphasized the importance of his innings, explaining that he recognized the need to anchor the batting lineup till the end.

Recalling the match, MI opted to field first after winning the toss, restricting SRH to 173/8 with key contributions from Travis Head (48 runs off 30 balls) and skipper Pat Cummins (35* off 17 balls). In response, MI faced early setbacks but staged a remarkable comeback led by Suryakumar’s century and Tilak Varma’s supporting innings, guiding them to victory with 16 balls to spare.

Suryakumar’s exceptional performance earned him the ‘Player of the Match’ award. Currently, MI holds the ninth position with four wins and eight losses, accumulating eight points, while SRH sits fourth with six wins, five losses, and 12 points.
