Yoga has become an essential part of the life of B-town celebrities. On 21 June, as the world celebrated International Yoga Day, top celebrities like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anupam Kher, Shilpa Shetty, among others, took to their social media accounts to share pictures of practising yoga. 

 Kareena Kapoor Khan has always been known for her good health and fitness, even after becoming a mother. She is used to perform Surya Namaskar every day. Kareena put out a post on her Instagram profile and wrote, “More stretching, less stressing. Stay flexible, stay fit and stay fab!”

 Veteran actor Anupam Kher also wrote a post on Twitter, wherein he shared a picture of him performing yoga at home. Along with the post, he shared a picture of a yogi meditating. The post read: “If you can’t go outside. Go inside!! #InternationalYogaDay2020.”

Actress-entrepeneur and fitness enthusiast Shilpa Shetty posted a video on Instagram where she was seen performing yoga. The 45-year-old actor also shared the shloka and its meaning in it.

Urging people to engage in yoga practice, Malaika Arora shared a video on Instagram, in which she talked about yoga, and confessed that for her it is the way of life and she loves doing it. Actor Varun Dhawan also shared a picture on his social media page where he was seen balancing himself. Adah Shama did aerial Padmasana on the International Yoga Day.

Bijay Anand, a speciallist in Kalakandi Yoga, gave a message in which he said that yoga is not only about exercise but also good diet. Sharing a post on yoga, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar said, “Yoga is light, which once lit will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter your flame. #HappyInternationalYogaDay #YogaForAll.” Model Milind Soman, sharing a picture of himself in a yoga pose on social media, wrote, “#Balance, being in the moment, #mindfulness and #peace is #yoga for me Happy yoga to all.”

The International Yoga Day is observed on 21 June every year to spread awareness about the importance and effects of yoga on the health of the people. The word “yoga” is derived from Sanskrit, which means to join or to unite.
