Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will formally inaugurate these programs with Geeta Pujan. The Vice President will also offer the holy water of Brahmasarovar. On the same day, the Vice President will also inaugurate the International Geeta Seminar at Kurukshetra University.
Kurukshetra Development Board has intensified preparations for the festival, due to which meetings are also going on at the official level. From December 7, a craft and sugar fair will be held on the banks of Brahmasarovar, while the main pandal will be decorated in Brahmasarovar Purushottampura Bagh for main cultural programs. This time the main programs of the festival will be held for eight days from 17 to 24 December.
This year Geeta Jayanti will be celebrated on 23 December. On this day, there will be Deepotsav, lamp donations, cultural programs and global Geeta recitation by 18 thousand students. On the other hand, the cultural programs during the festival have not been finalized yet, due to which there is still curiosity about the big faces coming in these programs.
So far, three Presidents have visited Dharmanagari for the Mahotsav, but the program for one President had to be canceled on the spot. In 2017, the then President Ramnath Kovind attended the festival, and last year, President Draupadi Murmu graced the event as the chief guest. Not only this, in 2018 the President of Mauritius also participated in the festival. Even in the year 2016, the program of the then President Pranab Mukherjee was fixed and on the day he was to reach here, his program was canceled due to the death of the CM of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalitha.
This year also, Haryana Pavilion, State Level Exhibition of the Public Relations Department, Haryanvi Cultural Program, International Geeta Seminar, Global Geeta Recitation of 18 thousand children, Geeta Run, educational activities, Maha Aarti, Deepdan, Geeta Shobha yatra. , Book Fair, Sant Sammelan, Haryana Pavilion, Bhajan Sandhya, 48 Kos Teerth Sammelan, Sant Sammelan, Food Festival, GOI Tag Exhibition. Along with exhibitions, online Geeta quizzes and various competitions for school students will also be organized by national and international level institutions.
This time, Assam will be the state participant in the festival, on whose behalf a pavilion will be set up on the banks of Brahmasarovar. In this, there will be a glimpse of Assam’s food and its civilization and culture. Not only this, but special artists from Assam will also perform here. For this, on Monday, a team of officials from Assam reached the bank of Brahmasarovar to take stock. When a meeting was held with KDB officials, details were discussed to make the program successful.
