In light of the upcoming International Gita Jayanti Festival, an International Gita Conference is set to take place at Kurukshetra University. The theme for this conference is “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – Bhagavad Gita and Global Unity.” Experts and researchers from seven countries, including Hirokichi Sato from Tokyo, Jeffery Armstrong from Northern California, Satya Kalra, Dr. Narendra from Washington, Dr. Venu from New York, Sunil Jain, and Nell Bhatt from California, will gather for this insightful event. Additionally, specialists from various religions, including Muslim and Sikh communities, are enthusiastic about contributing to the discourse.
This initiative aligns with the recent G20 Summit in Delhi, which also focused on the theme of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.” Kurukshetra University’s efforts aim to carry this concept forward and foster global discussions.
From Tokyo, Professor Hirokichi Sato will provide insights into the Gita in Hindi. His research, centered on Indian philosophy and literature, aims to share his findings with the youth during the conference. Eighteen Indian experts will also contribute their perspectives during the conference. The event seeks to inspire youth by showcasing the expertise of these experts from various high-ranking institutions.The conference is scheduled for three days, beginning on December 17, with the inauguration to be conducted by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. The second session will include practical workshops on the Bhagavad Gita and youth. Subsequent sessions will see in-depth discussions on the Gita by experts from India and abroad.
In the spirit of collaboration, the second day of the conference, December 18, will involve detailed discussions on the Gita, followed by presentations by research scholars sharing their insights. This International Gita Conference presents a unique opportunity for scholars and experts to delve into the universal teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and explore avenues for fostering global unity.
