Dr. Sajjan Singh Yadav’s ‘Bestseller’ book, India’s Vaccine Growth Story- From Cowpox to Vaccine Maitri,’ will be published in 20 Indian languages. This will aid in spreading the story of India’s global vaccine supremacy throughout the country.
Dr. Yadav is a scientist and a bureaucrat. He is an officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and is currently the Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Finance’s Department of Expenditure.
He has worked for the government in a variety of fields such as finance, health, nutrition, water, sanitation, food, public distribution, urban development, municipal administration, information and publicity, art, culture, tourism, and commercial taxes.
He graduated from the prestigious London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) with a Doctorate in Public Health.
Vaccines are the most effective weapon against infectious diseases. They have assisted us in preventing thousands of deaths from infectious diseases each year. Approximately 77% of the vaccines produced in the country are exported to over 170 countries. India meets 90% of the WHO’s demand for measles vaccines and 40-70 percent of the demand for DPT and BCG vaccines.
