Three members of an Indian-origin family tragically died in a car crash in Texas. The accident, which claimed the lives of a couple and their daughter, occurred as they were en route to the University of Dallas in North Texas.

The collision happened around 5:45 AM on Wednesday near Lampass County, according to local media.

The victims, residents of Leander, have been identified as Arvind Mani (45), his wife Pradeepa Arvind (40), and their 17-year-old daughter Andril Arvind.

Arvind and Pradeepa were driving their daughter to college; Andril had recently graduated high school and was set to begin studying computer science at the University of Dallas.

Their son, Adiryan, was not in the vehicle at the time of the crash and is now the sole surviving member of the family. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to support the bereaved boy, raising over $81,000 to date.

The crash also resulted in the death of the driver of the other vehicle involved. The family’s car caught fire upon impact. A police official described the incident as the worst crash he has witnessed in his 26-year career, noting that there was “no chance of survival.”
