In a display of swift action and heightened vigilance, the Indian Army successfully thwarted a Pakistan-initiated drone incursion in the Poonch sector, near the Line of Control (LoC), late last night. The attempted breach occurred in the Mendhar area, with the Pakistani drone dangerously close to the Indian Territory, approximately 100 meters from the LoC.

Responding promptly to the intrusion, Indian forces unleashed a barrage of approximately two dozen rounds to neutralize the advancing drone. The Pakistani drone persisted in its incursion for nearly 10 minutes before pushed back into Pakistani airspace.

This incident marks the second attempt within a short span where drones have been detected in the Poonch sector near the LoC. Following the latest intrusion, a high alert has been sounded, indicating the increased readiness of Indian forces to thwart any nefarious designs aimed at pushing terrorists into Indian territory from across the border.
