A 24-year-old man attempting to fly to Canada while disguised as a senior citizen was apprehended at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. Guru Sewak Singh, who had dyed his hair and beard white to appear older, was caught by CISF officials on Tuesday at Terminal-3.
Singh, posing as 67-year-old Rashvindar Singh Sahota, presented a passport bearing the false identity during a security check before boarding an Air Canada flight. However, CISF officials became suspicious due to the mismatch between his youthful voice and skin texture and the age stated in the passport.
“The man’s appearance, voice, and skin texture seemed significantly younger than the details provided in the passport. Closer observation revealed that he had dyed his hair and beard white and was wearing glasses to appear older,” a CISF statement revealed.
Upon interrogation, Singh admitted to his true identity. Officials also discovered a photo of his real passport on his phone, confirming his age as 24. Singh has been handed over to Delhi Police for further legal action.
