JP Nadda criticized Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of spreading hatred instead of love. Nadda claimed that the Modi government’s nine years in power had transformed the country and received recognition globally. He accused Gandhi of being unable to digest India’s progress and of questioning surgical strikes, promoting Hindu-Muslim divisions, and supporting the “tukde-tukde gang” (a term used to describe groups perceived as promoting the fragmentation of India).
In response, Gandhi had recently addressed an event titled “Mohabbat Ki Dukaan” (Shop of Love) in the United States, where he criticized the Modi government, alleging misuse of agencies and an environment where a select group of people believe they know everything and can explain various fields like science, history, and warfare, despite their alleged mediocrity. He also claimed that these individuals have influence over the media, institutions, and use threats to suppress dissenting voices.
The event was organised by the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC). During his address, Gandhi targeted the Modi government, saying it was misusing all the agencies. He also said that India was being run by a group of people who are ‘absolutely convinced’ they know everything.
“They could sit down with God and explain things…and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one such specimen,” he said. He said that there is a “group of people who understand everything…they can explain science to scientists, history to historians, warfare to the Army, and at the heart of it is mediocrity. They actually don’t understand anything.”
“They have the media. They have captured institutions. They put pressure on all the institutions. They threaten people…so, their voice is heard more,” the Congress leader said.
