Yogi Adityanath Celebrates BJP’s Big Win in UP By-Elections

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath celebrated BJP’s success in the by-elections on Saturday. He burst crackers outside the party office after the results were announced. The Election Commission declared results for 48 assembly seats across 13 states. The BJP and its allies dominated, winning most of the seats.

BJP Shines in Uttar Pradesh

In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP claimed six of the nine contested assembly seats. Its ally, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), added one more victory. However, the Samajwadi Party managed to win only two seats. After the win, Yogi Adityanath credited the success to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

“PM Modi’s vision and leadership have helped us to win. The public has shown their trust in his vision and policies. I congratulate all the winning candidates,” Adityanath said in a press conference in Lucknow.

Highlights from Other States

  • West Bengal: Trinamool Congress (TMC) swept all six assembly seats.
  • Karnataka: Congress triumphed in all three constituencies.
  • Rajasthan: BJP won five of seven seats. Congress and the Bharat Adivasi Party won one seat each.

BJP’s Continued Success

  • Assam: BJP won three seats. Its allies, the United Peoples Party, Liberal (UPPL), and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), secured one seat each.
  • Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Uttarakhand: BJP claimed the lone assembly seat in each state.
  • Meghalaya: The National People’s Party (NPP) won the only seat.

Election Overview

The by-elections spanned 48 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats in 15 states. With strong performances in key states, the BJP and its allies reinforced their dominance. The results highlight growing public trust in the party’s leadership and policies.
