An incident of a dog attack has come to light after a 35-year-old woman was reportedly attacked and chased by her neighbour's two pet dogs inside a building in Ghaziabad's Raj Nagar Extension on August 18.

An FIR was filed by her father, Alok Jain, at the Nandgram police station on August 19. The FIR has been filed under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita section 291 (negligent conduct towards animals). The police confirmed that the woman, who is identified as Nishi, sustained injuries to her head after slipping from the stairs when the dogs chased her.

According to her family, Nishi was waiting for the lift when two German Shepherds attacked her. “My daughter, Nishi, got ready and stepped out for the office. In the corridor, she was chased by two of our neighbours' pet dogs. She ran to save herself but slipped on the staircase. She suffered several internal injuries, including a head injury. On June 18, the dogs had also attacked our minor granddaughter, who remained in shock for several days. I had informed the police then,” said Jain.
