Aam Aadmi Party national convenor and ex-Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s daughter, Harshita Kejriwal, wedded her college mate Sambhav Jain on Friday, April 18. The marriage ceremony was held at Kapurthala House in New Delhi, which is the official house of the Punjab CM when in the capital. Close family and friends from the party were present at the wedding, including Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and AAP minister Gopal Rai.
Harshita and Sambhav met while they were studying together at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, where they both earned their degrees. Harshita has a degree in Chemical Engineering, graduating in 2018, after which she served as an Associate Consultant with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) at Gurugram.
Their engagement was held earlier at the five-star Shangri-La Eros hotel in Delhi. The couple’s wedding reception is expected to be hosted on April 20, according to reports.
Who is Sambhav Jain?
Sambhav Jain is an entrepreneur and a project management consultant. He is an IIT Delhi alumnus and has experience in the construction and project management industries, including working as an Assistant Project Manager at H. J. Russell & Company. He and Harshita have also co-founded a healthcare startup called Basil Health, which deals with personalized fitness and wellness solutions through the use of technology.
Political Response to Extravagant Engagement
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta questioned the scale of the engagement, which was hosted at a luxury hotel. “It’s good that the truth is coming out before the people of Delhi. It’s a positive sign that Delhi is beginning to understand,” Gupta remarked, taking a jibe at the extravagance.
