“We Aim to Achieve Complete Aatmanirbharta in Defence”: Rajnath Singh on NDA Government’s 100 Days

On Tuesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted the central government’s commitment to making India fully self-reliant in defence matters as the NDA government marked its first 100 days in office.

Speaking to ANI, Singh detailed the strategic roadmap developed for these initial 100 days, noting that the government had pre-planned its agenda. “Today marks the end of the first 100 days of our third term, and coincidentally, it is also Prime Minister Modi’s birthday. This is a happy coincidence,” Singh said.

He emphasized that the government had been proactive in setting its course, following PM Modi’s instructions for all ministries to prepare their 100-day plans before the new administration took office. “Once the cabinet was formed, we quickly implemented key decisions, including the inclusion of over 501 items on the positive indigenisation list,” Singh added.

Singh also criticized opposition parties, accusing them of squandering the country’s time and resources. “While our government has been steadily progressing, the opposition continues to waste time with trivial issues. In cricket terms, our government has been scoring steadily, while the opposition is stuck throwing no-balls and wide balls,” he remarked.

Responding to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s criticisms of the central government made during his visit to the US, Singh dismissed them as lacking credibility and damaging to India’s reputation. “It is ironic that he chooses to disparage our country abroad,” Singh said.

Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister Modi asserted that his administration had diligently pursued its agenda for the first 100 days, emphasizing the efforts made both domestically and internationally. “I assured the nation during the Lok Sabha elections that we would take unprecedented decisions in these 100 days. I have spared no effort in fulfilling this promise, leaving no stone unturned to advance our goals,” Modi stated.
