Watch: Owner Arrested After Pet Dog Falls From 5th Floor, Killing 4-Year-Old Girl In Thane

In a tragic incident in Thane, Maharashtra, a four-year-old girl was killed when a pet dog fell on her from the fifth floor of a building.The incident, which occurred on August 6 in the Mumbra area, led to the arrest of the dog’s owner by the police on Thursday night.

According to officials, the young girl was walking with a woman on the road below when the dog, owned by the arrested individual, fell from a significant height. The child sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead the same day.

Following the incident, a video capturing the dog’s fall and its tragic consequences quickly went viral on social media, drawing widespread attention to the case.

The Mumbra police have filed charges against the dog’s owner and three other individuals under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The charges include culpable homicide not amounting to murder, death by negligence, negligent conduct with respect to animals, and acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention. Initially, the police had recorded the case as an accidental death, but the severity of the incident and the ensuing investigation led to more serious charges being brought against those involved.
