As the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections draw near, a voter awareness rally was organised today under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative in Goha Marmat. The rally, involving enthusiastic students, was flagged off from Government Higher Secondary School Goha Marmat.
Chief Education Officer Parkash Lal Thapa, along with Kailash Kumar, the Assembly Constituency Level Nodal Officer for AC 53, and Principal of GHSS Goha Gopal Chalotra, officiated the flagging off ceremony.
The rally aimed to raise awareness about the importance of voting and to encourage maximum voter participation in the upcoming elections. Students and staff from the school participated, carrying banners and chanting slogans to promote voter education and awareness, emphasising the significance of every vote in the democratic process.
In his capacity as the Nodal Officer for Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) and SVEEP, the CEO also inspected polling stations at GHSS Goha and GHS Hambal within Assembly Constituency 53.
The inspection was conducted to ensure that all Assured Minimum Facilities were in place, including ramps for differently-abled voters, shade, drinking water, and toilet facilities.
The rally and subsequent inspections underscore the commitment to ensuring a smooth and inclusive electoral process, encouraging all eligible voters to exercise their democratic right.
