Vietnamese Prime Minister Extends Invitation To PM Modi For Official Visit

He invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Vietnam, opening a new chapter in the strategic partnership between New Delhi and Hanoi. PM Chinh said while addressing a joint press conference at Hyderabad House in the Indian capital, “Let me take the opportunity to extend my cordial invitation to his Excellency, Prime Minister, to visit Vietnam in the nearest future to reciprocate the kindness and hospitality.”

He praised PM Modi’s leadership, saying that under Modi, India had risen to the position of the world’s fifth-biggest economy and a global power. PM Chinh said, “Having made its mark, the leadership of the BJP and the prime minister have brought about great benefits to the Indian people. We are deeply impressed by the whole market with his exact prime minister, such as electricity coverage for 28 million poor households, 5G connection, social security, dramatic increase in the people’s living standard and food security for all, including 800 million who benefit from free food.”

He attributed all these to the efforts of the Indian government and said that the Strategic Partnership with Vietnam had just reached a new level with deeper trust and efficiency. He expressed his belief that with PM Modi at the helm, India would continue further ahead toward realizing the vision of 2047: a developed country.

Moreover, PM Chinh confirmed that Vietnam was interested in joining the CDRI of India and raised the opening of the deputy foreign ministerial-level dialogue on economic diplomacy. He also emphasized the obligation to maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea and the need for all disputes to be settled under international law, particularly UNCLOS 1982.

PM Chinh also commended India’s role in combating COVID-19, saying, “India also played a large role in fighting COVID-19, with four types of vaccines from which we also benefited. Even with the production of medicines for the treatment of COVID-19, we imported a fair quantity from India.”

He concluded his speech by highlighting the strong bilateral relationship between the two nations, saying, “I am delighted, and Prime Minister Modi joins me in welcoming the tremendous gains in our bilateral relationship, particularly since we established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. During his visit 8 years ago, we reiterated the priority and importance our two countries place in relation to each other in our respective foreign policies.”
