Uttarakhand govt to provide basic facilities to family members of workers trapped in Uttarkashi tunnel

The state government will offer lodging, food, and medical care to the families of the workers stranded in the Silkyara Tunnel, which is under construction on the Uttarkashi-Yamnotri road, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced during a review meeting with senior officials on Saturday.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) released an official statement stating that “Chief Minister Dhami said that the state government will provide accommodation, food, and health facilities to the workers’ families.”

He further instructed the Garhwal Commissioner to make all necessary plans for the workers’ families in Chinyalisour and the surrounding areas in terms of housing, food, and health care.

Additionally, the Chief Minister has issued directives to maintain constant communication with the workers’ families and to provide updates on the relief and rescue efforts.
The officers were also instructed to remove any obstacles from the rescue operation by taking all necessary steps.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi keeps asking for updates on the rescue effort. The agencies operating at ground zero are receiving every conceivable support from the state government, the CMO stated.
