UPSC CSE 2024 Results Declared: Shakti Dubey Tops with AIR 1

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results of the Civil Services Examination 2024 today, April 22, on upsc.gov.in. Shakti Dubey topped the list after securing All India Rank 1 after clearing all three phases of the exam.

Lakhs of candidates sit for this exam every year. But few reach the top. The UPSC CSE is India’s most competitive exam, which results in the best jobs in the IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, and other Group A and B services. UPSC recruited 1,132 candidates for central government jobs this year.

List of Top 10 Candidates:

  • AIR Rank 1: Shakti Dubey
  • AIR Rank 2: Harshita Goyal
  • AIR Rank 3: Dongre Archit Parag
  • AIR Rank 4: Shah Margi Chirag
  • AIR Rank 5: Aakash Garg
  • AIR Rank 6: Komal Punia
  • AIR Rank 7: Aayushi Bansal
  • AIR Rank 8: Raj Krishna Jha
  • AIR Rank 9: Aditya Vikram Agarwal
  • AIR Rank 10: Mayank Tripathi

How the Selection Happened ?

UPSC employed its standard three-stage approach:

The Prelims served as a screening test.

The Mains tested deeper understanding and analytical abilities.

The Interview round, conducted from January 7 to April 17, tested personality and presence of mind.

In comparison to last year, the interview process was longer. Nevertheless, the process remained comprehensive and open.

1,132 Central Posts on Offer

This year’s selection occupies 1,132 high-level positions. These are positions in policy-making, finance, foreign affairs, and law enforcement. With such responsibilities, these positions require not only ability, but also good public values.

UPSC examines beyond facts. It searches for determination, clarity, values, and an inclination to serve. Toppers such as Shakti Dubey demonstrate what today’s young leaders have to give—concentration, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility.

This year’s results also indicate increasing inclusivity. Results like Harshita Goyal, Komal Punia, and Aayushi Bansal indicate increasing numbers of women in top positions.

Moreover, candidates from most regions and academic streams have done well. Consequently, the future administration of India appears more inclusive than ever.
