UP: Under Gangster Act, properties worth Rs 130 crore of former Samajwadi Party MLA seized

The Gangsters Act was used in the Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh to seize the properties of Samajwadi Party MLA Deep Narayan Singh Yadav, which were estimated to be worth over Rs 130 crore.

Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the SP, is thought to be close to Yadav. The police claim that the former MLA’s land in Bangaon, Karganwa, and Bhagwantpura, worth Rs 130 crore, was attached.

The former MLA has spent the past two months in jail on suspicion of plotting to have infamous criminal Lekhraj Singh Yadav released from custody.

“In Nawabad Police Station, some people were jailed for attempting to free jailed criminal Lekhraj Yadav. We seized the properties of Deep Yadav-one of them. The land of a former SP MLA has been attached under the gangster’s action. The market value of these properties is 130 crore. This action is in the first stage, and it will continue,” said Rajesh S, Jhansi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).

More than 50 cases have been filed against him, according to the police.

He declared, “Deep Narayan already has more than 50 cases against him.”

Other properties owned by the former MLA are also expected to be seized by the police. Along with valuable land in Garautha, he also owns real estate in Jhansi, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, and Prithvipur (MP).
