On August 15, the nation was honoring its martyrs as it celebrated its 77th Independence Day, but an event in Prayagraj stoked tensions. After the Independence Day programme, in a madrasa, breakfast was being served by laying a tricolor cloth on the table to host the breakfast programme. During the program, it happened in the madrasa located in Dahiyawan market of Holagarh police station area of Prayagraj. Food and eatables were being distributed on the table by putting a tricolor cloth on it.
As soon as its photo went viral on social media, anger spread among the people, on seeing it, the atmosphere in the whole market got heated and the people of the area started creating ruckus.As the situation worsened, the neighborhood police station also acted, opening an inquiry and filing a police report (FIR) against four individuals, including the management of the Madrasa, under a number of different laws, including the Prevention of Insult to the National Flag Act. Demand for action by filing a case under serious sections.
Information said that the Holagarh police station neighborhood’s Dahiyawan market was celebrating Independence Day with fanfare. In the course of this, a photo of food being provided and set out on a bench in the Gausia Madrasa in Dahiyawan Bazar was posted on Twitter, along with the hashtags UP Police, CM Office, and Commissioner Prayagraj. The police registered a case against the four named, identifying the case. This is the case of Madrasa Gausia Islamia Jintul Uloom located in Dahianwa of Holagarh police station area.
