Three individuals, suspected to be linked to the Khalistan Commando Force, were arrested following an encounter with a joint team of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab police in Pilibhit on Monday. The suspects were allegedly involved in a grenade attack on a police checkpoint in Gurdaspur, Punjab.
The arrested individuals were identified as Gurvinder Singh (25), Virender Singh alias Ravi (23), and Jaspreet Singh alias Pratap Singh (18), all from Gurdaspur. During the encounter, which took place in the Puranpur area of Pilibhit, the trio sustained serious injuries and were rushed to CHC Puranpur for treatment.
Police recovered two AK-47 assault rifles, two Glock pistols, and a large quantity of ammunition from the suspects.
