A 21-year-old man named Jasmine was arrested by the police in Greater Noida›s Dankaur for allegedly hacking his father and grandfather to death. The double murder occurred on the night of September 7, and the police have also recovered the weapons used in the crime.
According to the police, Jasmine killed his father, Vikramajit Rao, and grandfather, Ramkumar, while they were asleep, and the incident took place in an under-construction film studio in Dankaur›s Ballu Khera village.
Jasmine told the police that his father›s immoral behaviour and general indifference towards his mother had caused turmoil within the family. He claimed that his mother was subjected to torment and harassment, which eventually forced her to leave her husband›s house along with her children.
On the night of the shocking double murder, Jasmine entered the studio with the intention of murdering his father. He attacked him on the face, neck, and head with an axe that was kept there. The grandfather, a retired roadways employee who was sleeping on a cot nearby, woke up during the attack.
In a bid to avoid being recognised, Jasmine attacked him on the head, neck, and face. When he noticed that his grandfather, Ramkumar, was moving, he repeatedly struck him on the head with a hammer. After that, he threw the weapons near a closed bathroom, jumped over the wall, reached home, and cleaned his blood-stained clothes.
