The Congress on Sunday announced the appointment of Uday Bhanu Chib as the new president of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC), replacing Srinivas B V. Chib, who previously served as the general secretary of the IYC and is a former president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress, takes over the position with immediate effect.
In a statement, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge confirmed the appointment and praised Chib for his contributions to the party. “Uday Bhanu Chib has been appointed as the president of the Indian Youth Congress. The party acknowledges the valuable contributions of outgoing president Srinivas B V during his tenure,” the statement read.
Additionally, Kharge announced the appointments of M.K. Bhardwaj and Bhanu Mahajan as acting working presidents of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee, effective immediately.
The leadership reshuffle comes at a critical time as the Congress prepares for key political battles across the country, and Chib’s experience in youth politics, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, is expected to play a pivotal role in mobilizing young voters.
