Two Terrorists Killed in Anantnag Encounter, Operations Continue in Khanyar and Bandipora

Two terrorists were neutralized by security forces in an intense encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday. The operation unfolded near Halkan Gali in the Shangus-Larnoo area, where security personnel successfully eliminated one foreign and one local terrorist, according to sources cited by PTI. Their group affiliation has yet to be confirmed, with officials stating that the operation remains active and further updates are expected.

Simultaneously, another encounter broke out in the Khanyar area of Srinagar. As of now, there are no reported casualties, though the situation remains tense. The Kashmir Zone Police posted on X, “A cordon and search operation in Khanyar area of district Srinagar has resulted in an exchange of fire. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.”

These recent encounters come on the heels of an earlier operation in Bandipora district, where security forces engaged with suspected militants on Friday. Security has been heightened across the region, with forces actively pursuing any leads to dismantle potential terrorist networks.

Operations are ongoing, and officials emphasize that securing the areas and ensuring civilian safety remain the top priority amidst these evolving situations.
