The encounter comes days after the firing incident at actress Disha Patani’s home in Bareilly.
Two men accused in the recent firing incident outside Bollywood actor Disha Patani’s Bareilly residence were killed in a police encounter in Ghaziabad on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as Ravindra alias Kullu and Arun, were linked to gangster Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara’s gang, according to the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF).
“Both the accused (Ravinda alias Kullu and Arun), who were injured following an encounter with the police, have succumbed to injuries,” Delhi Police confirmed to ANI.
According to PTI, a joint team of the STF Noida unit and Delhi Police intercepted the duo in Ghaziabad’s Tronica City.
During the exchange of fire, both accused sustained serious injuries. They were immediately taken to the hospital, where they later died.
Additional Director General (ADG) Law and Order, Amitabh Yash, said that police recovered a Glock pistol, a Zigana pistol, and a large number of cartridges from the encounter site.
The encounter comes days after the firing incident at actress Disha Patani’s home in Bareilly.
On September 12, around 3:30 am, two men on a motorbike opened fire outside her residence. Soon after, a social media post attributed to Goldy Brar’s associates claimed responsibility for the attack.
The post, which was later deleted, alleged that the firing was in retaliation for “insulting” comments made against spiritual figures Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. It warned that this was “just a trailer” and hinted at more violence in the future.
Following the attack, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spoke to Disha Patani’s father, Jagdish Singh Patani, a retired deputy superintendent of police. He assured that strict action would be taken and the family’s safety would be ensured.
Jagdish Patani described the terrifying incident to the media.
“At around 3 in the morning, I woke up to the sound of dogs barking. I saw the attackers firing at our house. The pistol they used was foreign-made. Once the trigger was pressed, 10-15 rounds were fired in quick succession. We were extremely scared and immediately informed the police,” he said.
Police increased security at the Patani residence and began an investigation into the case. With the death of Ravindra and Arun, authorities believe a breakthrough has been achieved against the Goldy Brar gang.
The investigation is still underway to trace other associates and ensure no further threat remains to the Patani family.
