Trio Arrested in Jammu and Kashmir for Fabricating False Terror Threats

In a interesting development three individuals in Jammu and Kashmir have been apprehended by the police for orchestrating a fake terror threat linked to the Dhangri terror attack. The incident, which resulted in the tragic loss of seven lives in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, has taken a bizarre turn as the main accused, Jahangir Ahmed, allegedly used the attack to frame his wife’s suspected lover.

Jahangir Ahmed, along with accomplices Fiyaz Ahmed and local political leader Mushtaq Ahmed, devised a plan to falsely implicate the alleged beau of Jahangir’s wife. Mushtaq Ahmed reportedly advised Jahangir that this scheme was the only way to salvage his marriage. To execute their plan, the trio saved the alleged beau’s mobile number under a false identity and fabricated threatening messages, claiming to be from a terror commander responsible for the Dhangri attack.

Once the messages were created, they were circulated among the conspirators to give credibility to their deception. Subsequently, Jahangir Ahmed filed a complaint with the SDPO, alleging threats from the supposed terror commander linked to matrimonial disputes. However, suspicions arose during the investigation, leading authorities to focus on Jahangir and his accomplices.

The elaborate hoax was uncovered by authorities, exposing the trio’s involvement in creating the fake terror threats. Consequently, a case has been registered against Jahangir Ahmed, Mushtaq Ahmed, and Fiyaz Ahmed under relevant sections of the law.

SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma emphasized that such malicious acts would not be tolerated, and those spreading rumors would face strict legal repercussions. The case, registered under FIR 12/2024 at the Chassana police station, is being led by SHO PS Chassana Ranjeet Rao.
